This movie is literally ripped out of today’s headlines — there isn’t a more topical issue currently than illegal immigration. 9500 Liberty actually started out as a Youtube series, and has now been released in theaters as a full feature documentary.
Jennifer Lawrence gives an Oscar-worthy performance of this powerhouse movie written and directed by Debra Granik. Lawrence plays a gritty teen from rural Missouri named Ree Dolly.
Perrier’s Bounty centers around its main character, Michael, in his desperate attempts to repay a loan shark. Having run up his debts and evaded payment for quite some time, the boom is finally going to be lowered by the nefarious lender (played by Brendan Gleeson) if Michael doesn’t come up with the funds.
There are occasions — mostly relating to desiring to impress a girl — when a guy wants to find a decent artsy subtitled foreign flick in order to show off his more erudite side.
Older readers certainly gain a sense of nostalgia when it comes to the A-Team, while younger readers are likely to have had exposure to these iconic American characters via the power of re-runs.
Some guys are seriously into film as an art form, and seek illuminating works which expand their literary knowledge and sophistication. Holy Rollers is a movie based upon a true story which combined the worlds of religion and drugs. Jesse Eisenberg stars in the film which recaps the bizarre case of a New York ecstasy dealer who used ultra-orthodox Jews as his drug mules.
This film holds appeal for any guy who has had dreams of racing in Nascar, but it also is able to weave an interesting story able to hold the attention of viewers who have no interest in car racing whatsoever.
